Patient Stories

Jim and Linda’s Story

UC Health Air CareHe didn’t respond to any medications. He was quickly sent to the ICU, put on a ventilation tube and had a CT scan. My husband and I could only pray for our son.

The ICU nurse and doctor remained calm when they spoke with us, and the doctor sent the CT electronically to University Hospital for a second opinion. The doctors agreed that our son needed to be flown by Air Care to UH and admitted to the Neuroscience ICU. Within minutes, he was in the sky headed downtown.

At UH, the doctors confirmed that my son had spinal meningitis. The neurologists, nurses and ICU doctors at both hospitals worked as a team to help my son, and we were so thankful to have such a great team on our side. Thirteen days after we took our son to WCH, we were able to bring him home; and just a week later he felt strong enough to return to college. He has received his first ever 4.0 for this semester and will graduate in June as planned. We are so thankful to all of the staff and physicians at WCH for their quick actions and compassion toward our family.

George’s Story

I am proud to have been a patient at such a beautiful hospital as West Chester Hospital. I felt like a VIP the whole time I stayed at the hospital – from the moment I walked through the front doors to the time I was discharged.

I have to say thank you to every single person who helped me including the front desk staff, the registration attendant, the nurses, physical therapists, laboratory technicians, doctors, and even the housekeeping staff! Did I forget to mention how great the food was? No other hospital I’ve ever been to can come close to the food at WCH.

I’ll always recommend West Chester Hospital to anyone I know who needs any health care service.
