Patient Amenities

Our goal at West Chester Hospital is to provide a pleasant and healing environment for all who enter, maximizing efficiency, safety and convenience. Our family-centered care means that you and your family won’t have long waits to be seen, won’t get lost navigating a confusing floor plan, and will be made as comfortable as if you were staying at a hotel. Just a few of the amenities we provide include:

  • Large, private rooms that are fully-equipped so that patients won’t have to move to a new room, even if their level of care changes.
  • Navicare® digital patient tracking, providing real-time information about patients as they move throughout the hospital, allowing the family to keep up-to-date on where their loved one is and how they are progressing.
  • Beside registration in the Emergency Department so we can get a patient in and start treatment as soon as possible, rather than wasting time in a busy waiting room.

Private, spacious rooms

West Chester Hospital Patient Room

West Chester Hospital Patient Room

West Chester Hospital has 160 patient rooms, all of which are private. Every room has a private restroom with a walk-in shower, fold-out sleeper-sofas for overnight guests, large, flat-panel televisions with cable, large windows to let in natural light, and soft, soothing color schemes that help you relax. Take a virtual tour of one of our patient rooms.

Unlike many hospitals that have a single nurse station on each floor, we designed and built a nurse mini-station for every two rooms. This allows your nurse to focus more time and energy on the patients, ensures a quicker response time in case of emergencies, and gives you the extra assurance that you won’t be left alone for long periods of time while the nurse is busy elsewhere.

inally, our patient beds are the latest in medical equipment – known as “smart beds,” these are more than just a comfortable place to sleep. The Hill-Rom VersaCare® mattresses redistribute air pressure to prevent bed sores, assist nurses in turning patients, communicate electronically with the Navicare patient tracking system, and notify nurses when a patient needs help.

West Chester Hospital is pleased to offer room service delivery to our patients. With room service, you can order made-to-order meals when you're ready to eat. Room service is available between the hours of 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

During your stay, your doctor may place you on a special diet, or you may request a special diet if you are diabetic, vegetarian or have other dietary needs. A special diet menu can be provided, or a caregiver can help you make appropriate choices from the menu. Our registered dieticians are also available to talk to you about healthier eating habits and to help you make your menu choices during your hospital stay.

Families and guests of patients also may purchase a meal ticket from the Café for Room Service meals, which will be delivered with the patient meals.
